The brain can be your best friend or your worst enemy. I mean this little mean machine is able to store so much information, yet at the same time screw you hard by forgetting everything and when you really don’t expect it you all of a sudden remember said thing, that you assumed was lost forever in the empty brain you thought you had.
For the past couple of weeks I’ve been frantically researching brain food. Why you ask? Well Carl just enrolled to write his CFA (chartered financial analyst) exam and its got a remarkable low pass rate all over the world. If he does pass I will be taking all the credit, for making his brain great, just kidding he’s already a smarty pants, but I will be taking a little credit.
VEGAN BRAIN FOOD
Blueberries – Blueberries are always on some list or another and its easy to see why. Blueberries improve memory an learning, and delay age related brain decline. They’re packed full of vitamin see and flavonoids that all help in making you smarter.
Avocado- Creamy and delicious, yet oh so good for you. Thank you avocado for yet again being so great. Its filled with folate which is essential for the brain and the maintenance of cognitive function, including memory.
Dark Green Leafy Vegetables- Kale, collard greens, spinach and broccoli are all great sources of folate and vitamin E, this will help improve your memory.

Wholegrains- Your brain cannot work without energy and wholegrains supply a slower release of energy into the body that’s great for keeping your brain in tip top condition.
Walnuts- Well when you kind of look like a tiny brain, you should be good for the brain in my opinion, so its a good thing walnuts lived up to my standards. Containing omega 3 fatty acids, which is an essential fatty acid to keep the brain functioning normally.
Exercise- Now this is not a food, its pretty obvious and I know some of you wish it was some food, but exercise is an important part of brain health. When you don’t have time for exercise, with cramming for an exam, sometimes its best to just step away and make a little time, this is a sure way to keep your spirits up and not make you feel so sluggish.
These are just a few ways to keep your brain in tip top shape and not having to go buy over the counter memory tablets.
