Orange You Mine, Green Juice

I don’t know why I have to give the juices I make a weird name, but it sure does roll of the tongue.  I love juicing, you get a fresh home made juice, that doesn’t have all that bad for you crap in it.  My garden loves the pulp, and I love the way I feel after I drink this juice.  This juice is loaded with vitamin C and just a wonderful nutrient boost.  Its sure to chase any sniffles away in an instant, it also tastes dreamy!

ORANGE YOU MINE, GREEN JUICE –  serves 4

Ingredients

  • 5 oranges, peeled
  • 3 green apples, chopped
  • 1 inch ginger, peeled
  • 1 celery stalk
  • 1 cup spinach

Directions

Place everything in you juicer.  Give it a good old stir before serving.   serve over ice.

Iced Green Tea with Cucumber, Kiwi and ginger

I love a great iced tea and combined with a great juice, this sure makes a fantastic Summer thirst quencher .  This Iced tea is perfect for those hot Summer days, or just an average day.  Lets just say its an all round drink.

You can even make this a fancy pants cocktail and add some gin in the mix.  I think this is a gin type of iced tea, but tell me your suggestions? I don’t drink any more, so this is just a really healthy iced tea for me.

GREEN TEA BENEFITS

ICED GREEN TEA WITH CUCUMBER, KIWI AND GINGER ( serves 4 -6)

Ingredients

  • 4 teabags green tea
  • 5 cups boiling water
  • sweetener to taste
  • 1 cucumber juiced
  • 2 kiwis, peeled and juiced
  • 1 inch ginger, juiced
  • 3/4 cup fresh mint
  • lemon slices
  • ice

Directions

In a large pitcher add the teabags and boiling water.  Sweeten to taste.  Let steep until cooled.  Remove teabags

Add the mint, lemon slices, cucumber juice, kiwi juice and ginger juice.  Let sit for 15 minutes.  Serve with ice.

Beets Me Juice

Ever since I started juicing, I’ve constantly been thinking of everything I can juice, trying new things and just enjoying the process.  What I’ve noticed from juicing is the way it makes me feel.  I feel a lot healthier, rejuvenated and just filled with energy.  My skin also looks fabulous.

Lots of people complain about the leftover pulp, but boy does my garden thank me for it.  The pulp makes an excellent plant food for my flowers and I don’t even bother composting it, I just dig a hole next to the plants and chuck the pulp right in and cover it.  Easy as that.

Beetroot is a root vegetable that makes a great juice, the colour alone is something to jump for joy about.  A friendly warming, everything will look like a murder scene.  This little ball has a lot of juice in it that just want to go everywhere.  So please DO NOT wear white, when making this juice.

BEETROOT JUICE BENEFITS

  1. Prevents premature ageing:   Beets are filled with antioxidant and because of the high antioxidant level in them they will help prevent cell and DNA damage, that causes ageing.

Directions

Place everything through your juicer.  Give it a good stir and serve over ice or as is.  Sit back and admire the colour, and prepare yourself for the most beety juice you will ever have.

Cucumber Cooler

It feels like in today’s society we have a million face creams and potions that are suppose to help with wrinkles, acne or any skin problem.  Everyday women and men spend a lot of money on these products that claim to do miracles for your beauty, but maybe,  just maybe we should start wondering if its all about what we put into our bodies that affect our skin and the ageing process.  Maybe that elixir of glowing beauty doesn’t cost a fortune, making a few diet changes, will cost a lot less than all those little ointments won’t it.

Cucumber is used a lot in those little potions, so why not just drink it.  Juicing cucumber is an easy way of getting all those beauty nutrients in your body fast and this juice is also really delicious.  I mean drinking it makes you’re skin feel alive.

The Hydrate Yo’self, Before You Wreck Yo’self Juice

Hydrating yourself no matter what the season is very important.  I know I get those pesky reminder headaches during Summer, that just scream you haven’t been drinking enough water!  and lets face it sometimes you just don’t feel like drinking all that water.

This juice is a great way to hydrate yo’self and get some nutrients in at the same time, to sweeten the pot it also tastes pretty darn good.

The Mean Green Detox Juice

Okay, this isn’t a mean juice, if I had to guess I would say this is a rather happy juice, but hey I don’t speak to fruit and vegetables, so I guess I will never know.

Ever since getting this juicer, I’ve been on a crazy juice kick.  I mean really crazy, I can’t stop thinking about different juice combinations and  I crave these juices like crazy.  Since I finally figured out how to pop the juicer part out to clean, the whole juice clean up has been a breeze, I know a lot of people complain about the pulp, but I’m really loving it, it works great as a garden fertilizer and my vegetables are loving it!

Why drink green juice? Its great for nutrition, the body absorbs nutrients quicker and its just fun and tastes great.

This juice is a great detox juice and is just a lovely green colour.  My favourite colour is green if you haven’t noticed by now, so this juice looks like a beautiful painting to me.

THE MEAN GREEN DETOX JUICE Serves 2

  • 2 cups spinach, washed
  • 1 cucumber
  • 2 apples
  • 1 orange,peeled
  • 1 kiwi, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks

Directions

Juice everything. Give it a good stir and serve over ice.

Sunshine Juice

This juice is like having sunshine in a glass, its a beautiful orange colour that just screams summer or it could be whispering to you paint your walls this colour? I don’t know what the juice secretly tells you.

Packed full of vitamin C and just pure deliciousness this a juice you just have to try!

  • 1 medium pineapple, skin removed and diced
  • 3 oranges, peeled
  • 2 large carrots, washed
  • 3 peaches, chopped

Directions

Place everything in your juicer.  Give it a good stir and serve over ice.  Sit back and start singing summer lovin.

Refresher Juice

This is a great post- work out juice, its refreshing enough to cool you down and rehydrates you like a succulent plant that’s received water after a drought.  Its so refreshing you will just feel your face light up after drinking it as well as making your taste buds explode with deliciousness.

Made with cucumber,pineapple, carrots, apple, pear and ginger its a little dynamo of a juice.

Glowing Skin Green Juice

This juice is just amazing, it makes your face feel alive and radiant and isn’t that what all women want. Just kidding, no one knows what women want, not even me and I’m a woman.

Juicing has becoming a hot commodity all over the world and its not hard to see why.  Its a good way to get in a lot of vitamins and gives you a great pick me up when you need it.  This juice gives me more energy than a cup of coffee will give me and I also feel great when I  drink it. So coffee step aside, let juice take the lead!

  • 1 pear
  • 3 stalks celery
  • 1/2 large cucumber
  • 1/2 thumb ginger root
  • 1 lemon with rind
  • 1 bunch parsley
  • 1 bunch coriander
